Bureau of Indian Affairs, Casino, Gaming, Indian Gaming, Sacramento, Sacramento County, Wilton Rancheria
An area Indian tribe seeking to build a casino on 160 acres of unincorporated Sacramento County northeast of Galt is set to unveil the plan to the Galt City Council Tuesday night.
The Wilton Rancheria informed Sacramento County by letter dated Feb. 19 of their intent to take the 160-acre property south of Arno Road between Highway 99 and the Union Pacific Railroad tracks into trust and ultimately build a casino on the property.
The Feb. 19 disclosure was in keeping with a memorandum of understanding between the county, City of Elk Grove and the Rancheria.
